| Purpose and scope |

Reliable data on the composition of wastes and waste derived products becomes more and more important since utilization of waste-derived materials increases rapidly. A liberalized market needs quality assurance for secondary products as well as accurate specifications of competing waste treatment processes. Recent methods of waste analysis are known to fail e. g. in cases of large heterogeneity and will not be able to meet future requirements. This conference aims at discussing the state of the art in waste analysis to define the relevant challenges and research issues within this field. While the focus will be on novel approaches for waste analysis, the following three aspects will be discussed, too:
1. knowledge base for goal oriented waste management,
2. reliable and robust methods for waste analysis,
3. putting analytical methods and knowledge base into practice. |
